MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Shhhh! Good morning and Merry Christmas! I just wanted to say that quickly before the coffee and the big breakfast and the opening of presents and, for us, Mass.
And that…
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)
YOU ARE NOT ALONE
Today, I hope you find yourself around family filled with joy and the hope that only Christ and his love can bring.
But it’s possible that today you may find yourself struggling to feel that joy and hope this particular year. I have a little story about that.
This year I performed a show that I started writing over 15 years ago. And when it finally came to fruition I felt a kind of new fear and anxiety I hadn’t ever felt before a show before. The only way through it was to make a decision that on that day, for this performance, it would be just between me and God. That’s what I told myself right before stepping out on that stage to say things of my own, hard things, joyful things, personal things. So I made the decision that as I said, sang, and felt all these personal things that the experience had to be personal as well.
Lord, this is between me and you. When I step out I know there are people watching but this is for you. We are going to have a little conversation, God. Just me and you.
So today, if you are feeling alone or sad because of loss, then I encourage you to make it a personal day between you and God. Just the two of you.
Because today is a very personal day for God. For he came just for you.
For unto you a child is born.
For you he will be a mighty counselor. For you he will be a mighty God. For you he will be your prince of peace. Just you. Just him. Together. He is here for you.
Let him love you. Especially today. You are not alone.
He’s here! He’s here! He’s here!
Just for you.
Merry Christmas, Fleur! Beautiful post.
